Offensive guard Rees Odhiambo is heading to his new team. A day after losing Mike Iupati to a season-ending injury, the Arizona Cardinals decided to make the move to sign him.

According to Charean Williams of NBCSports, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reported that Odhiambo would sign with the Cardinals.

Odhiambo entered the league in 2016 as a third-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks. But after just two seasons with the team, he was released.

His second year with the team in 2017 was cut short because of a hand injury. Odhiambo started the first seven games for the team, but suffered multiple dislocated fingers in both hands.

He was placed on the injured reserve list after being required to have surgery.

After being waived by the Seahawks last September, the 26-year-old has jumped from one team to another. On September 24, the Indianapolis Colts placed him on their practice squad.

The Atlanta Falcons then signed him on October 24. However, he was released less than a month later and was once again signed by the Colts to their practice squad.

The Cardinals are currently hampered by injuries. They may have pulled off an upset against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but they also lost two of their starters in the process.

Iupati is one of them. The four-time Pro Bowler has brought stability to the Cardinals' guard position and has helped the team in their successful run.  He was replaced by Colby Gossett after hurting his knee.

Odhiambo's signing is seen as insurance for the said position as they currently have four guards on their roster.
