The Arizona Cardinals will have a new member in their ring of honor on September 29. They'll be inducting quarterback Carson Palmer into the group, according to Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.com.

Palmer spent five seasons with the Cardinals. In that time, he led the Cardinals to a 38-21-1 record (64.2 winning percentage). That's the best winning percentage in franchise history, and it includes a trip to the NFC Championship game.

His 2015 season was the most impressive of the bunch. In that year, the Cardinals won 13 games and made that trip to the NFC Championship game. He threw for 4,671 yards and 35 touchdowns (compared to just 11 picks). The yards and touchdowns were both single-season records for Arizona.

At the end of the five years, Palmer had 16,782 yards, and 105 touchdown passes. Those are both fourth all-time in Cardinals franchise history.

Palmer overall was a great quarterback in his NFL career. Sure, he had ups and downs – but in the end, his career was a positive and should be celebrated as such.

With that in mind, it's great to see a franchise recognizing his talents and contributions he made to their team. The Cardinals have not looked the same since he left, clearly showing that he played an important role in their success.

Things are trending up for them with the selection of quarterback Kyler Murray this year, as well as getting some receivers for him to throw too. Hopefully, they can honor Palmer properly on September 29 (against the Seattle Seahawks) with some big plays in the air and a W for the team.
