Patrick Mahomes just signed the richest contract in sports history. Kliff Kingsbury always believed in his talents. The Arizona Cardinals head coach predicted Mahomes would receive the largest contract in NFL history back in 2018.

During an appearance on the Thomahawk Show, a podcast hosted by Joe Thomas and Andrew Hawkins, Kliff Kingsbury envisioned Mahomes redefining the market before he even took the field in 2018.

While speaking about Mahomes, Kliff Kingsbury said that during his time at Texas Tech, he got a chance to watch Mahomes in practice every day. Therefore, just from watching him throw the ball in practice, Kingsbury knew he'd be a special talent in the NFL.

“I think the sky’s the limit,” Kliff Kingsbury said. “I got to watch him three years in practice and he just made throw after throw, like, ‘How did he do that?’ I truly believe he’ll be the highest-paid player in the history of the game when his contract comes up.”

The craziest part about Kliff Kingsbury's comments was that this was before Mahomes would be the full-time starter for the Kansas City Chiefs. Nevertheless, Mahomes would finish the 2018 season with 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Then, despite missing two games in 2019, Mahomes would throw for 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Above all, he would lead the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in 2019.

Even before Mahomes proved he'd be the best quarterback in the NFL, Kliff Kingsbury felt that he'd create history in Kansas City. Seeing that he was spot on with his prediction of Mahomes, maybe Kingsbury would be kind enough to inform everyone what the future lottery numbers are.
