The Arizona Cardinals have had a few of their players speak out on racial injustices amid the tragic death of George Floyd and the team wants them to know they have their back. While we could see an uptick in athletes kneeling in 2020, Kliff Kingsbury spoke about players protesting during the national anthem.

In response to the recent incidents, there seems to be a growing number of players that could take a knee during the anthem next season. Despite Arizona not discussing pre-game protests yet, the Cardinals are going to support their players no matter what:

“Obviously, we’re going to support our guys. They know that,” Kingsbury said, via Kyle Odegard of the team website.

Thus far, veteran running back Adrian Peterson has shared that he'll be kneeling during the anthem in 2020. Seeing that Peterson has given his word, other players will surely join the veteran running back in peacefully protesting.

When the news of Floyd's death occurred, the Cardinals gave their players a day off to digest the situation. Since then, Arizona's coaching staff and front office have been searching for ways to help create change:

“As an organization, we want them to know we support them. From the top down,” Kingsbury said. “Michael (Bidwill) has called me multiple times to talk through things: ‘How can we help?’

We've seen the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Patrick Peterson, and DeAndre Hopkins voice their frustration on what's taking place in America. Kingsbury hopes the conversations being had will incite change:

“The racial injustice, the police brutality toward people of color, it has to stop. We’re all hopeful this is the catalyst for that change.”

Regardless of what the members of the Cardinals decide to do in response to racial injustice, they have the full support of the organization.
