Every kid when they get the chance to play football at an early age dreams about playing in the NFL. And first overall pick Kyler Murray got a chance to have that dream come true for himself with his first preseason game under his belt against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“It felt good,” Murray said after leaving the game in quotes distributed by the team. “It’s really crazy. It feels like a dream come true to finally be here in front of the fans. A new team for me with new guys, so it felt good.”

Murray was given the tall order of starting his first drive at the two-yard line near his own end zone. And fortunately enough, he was able to put together an impressive drive that got his team some yards.

He was accurate and precise with his passing and utilized his mobility to finding the open targets and providing strong passes to get his team first downs. His only blemish was getting sacked that ended the team's drive without any points to show for it.

Murray stated that he “would've loved to go score.” But the penalties the Cardinals offense accrued during their first drive was something that halted their ability to get into better scoring distance.

“I wanted to go score, so my only mindset was go score. We brought it out, and unfortunately didn't finish the job.”

Kyler Murray finished the game going six-for-seven passing the ball for 44 yards. He was sacked once, but no turnovers. He's looking to be everything that the Cardinals drafted with the first overall pick. Let's see if that can translate to the regular season with another three exhibition games under his belt.
