Even though the Arizona Cardinals struggled in a 32-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon at the University of Phoenix Stadium, longtime wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald made NFL history in two different categories.
For starters, the Cardinals announced that Fitzgerald became the fastest receiver ever to get to 1,200 career receptions, per Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
Larry Fitzgerald, who played in his 214th career game, is fastest player in NFL history to reach 1200 catches (Jerry Rice, 221 games and Tony Gonzalez, 247).

The incredible feat was done in seven fewer games than San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice, who is widely considered the best receiver to ever play in the NFL.

The record-breaking reception No. 1,200 for Fitzgerald came on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert late in the second quarter. The Cardinals' official Twitter page promptly posted a video of the touchdown, which can be viewed below.

Fitzgerald moved ahead of Rams legendary wide receiver Isaac Bruce for fourth in NFL career yards receiving with 15,267. The 10-time Pro Bowler needs just 26 yards to pass Minnesota Vikings great Randy Moss to move into third place on the all-time receiving yards list.
As a potential playoff team, the Cardinals are in a lot of trouble and have to now rely on many different scenarios to happen over the next few weeks in order for them to have a shot at the postseason.
