The NFL lost a great man with wide receiver coach Darryl Drake passing away on Sunday, and Arizona Cardinals wideout Larry Fitzgerald posted a thoughtful message on Instagram about him.

Drake was the Cardinals wide receiver coach from 2013-2017 and during that time, he became very close with Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald described Drake as one of his greatest mentor's and friends and said he hoped everyone's faith will get them through this difficult time.

I’m heartbroken for anyone who had the privilege to know Darryl. As a man, a coach, a husband, and a father, he was as good as they come.

I can’t put into words the impact that Darryl had one me…he was my position coach for 5 years, and he’s been one of the greatest mentors and friends in my life since we met.

We’ll get through this difficult time by focusing on all of the love that Darryl had for others and that we all had for him — it’s what he would want.

Let faith guide us all through this incredibly difficult moment…sending prayers to all of the extended Drake family, especially to his incredible wife Sheila and their beautiful children.

Fitzgerald didn't practice with the team on Sunday, but it's unclear if that's because of the death, or it was already a scheduled off day.

Drake was the wide receivers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was only 62 years old.

He was well respected throughout the NFL ,and this going to hit hard in a lot of NFL locker rooms.
