Larry Fitzgerald is one of the greatest wide receivers of all-time. In fact, he's one of the greatest NFL players of all-time. Not many people will debate this. Now the Arizona Cardinals legend and future Hall of Famer has another accolade to prove that point though.

On Sunday, the Cardinals lost to NFC West divisional rivals the Seattle Seahawks. The 27-10 loss dropped them to 0-3-1 on the year. However, in that game, Fitzgerald picked up five receptions for 47 yards.

That gave him 1,326 receptions for his career, which moved him past Tony Gonzalez for second place all-time in receptions.

The only person ahead of Fitzgerald now is Jerry Rice. Rice has 1,549 receptions. That means Fitzgerald needs another 223 to tie him, and 224 to pass him. Therefore, it's pretty unlikely that happens.

Yes, he's shown he's still got a lot left in the tank. However, Fitzgerald has flirted with retiring each of the last few offseasons. It's hard to imagine him sticking around for a few more years.

With that in mind, Rice's number is likely safe for the time being. However, Fitzgerald will get a chance to climb a little closer. He'll also get to build up his own resume and make it harder for anyone to catch him any time soon.

Fitzgerald also has 16,579 receiving yards and 118 receiving touchdowns in his career. The numbers speak for themselves.

As he continues to build up one of the strongest resumes ever, there's really no doubt that the wide receiver is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and an absolute legend in the NFL.
