With the Carolina Panthers Week 14 matchup being against the Atlanta Falcons, we'll see who wants it more in the NFC South. Even though it's an uphill battle for both franchises, they're each fighting for playoff positioning. We take a look at this Panthers-Falcons game with some of our Panthers Week 14 predictions in mind.

Carolina has plenty of talent on the defense to make some noise, but it hasn't quite come to fruition this year. They'll have a chance to prove themselves against the Falcons, which is a great challenge for this young Panthers' defense. If they can slow down Kyle Pitts, they should be able to control most of the game.

Not having Christian McCaffrey in the lineup hurts, but Carolina isn't dead yet. Chuba Hubbard fills in the starting running back role and could be in for a big game against Atlanta. Additionally, DJ Moore will have an opportunity to show off his skill sets. For that to happen, Cam Newton needs to have a major comeback game on Sunday. With that said, here are four bold Panthers Week 14 predictions for their contest against the Falcons.

Panthers Week 14 Predictions

4. Panthers defense bottles up Kyle Pitts

Kyle Pitts has had a decent rookie campaign and has been one of the focal points of the Falcons' offensive attack. For that reason, the Panthers must prioritize slowing him down. Considering he's one of Atlanta's top receiving options, he's bound to have multiple targets on the day.

The Panthers must find a way to prevent him from catching those passes. Doing so will stop the Falcons' offensive drives short and force them to punt the ball. This is the perfect opportunity for Carolina to prove themselves against a divisional rival.

3. Chuba Hubbard rips Atlanta for 100+ rushing yards

Losing Christian McCaffrey hurts, but it's not the end of the world. Chuba Hubbard proved to be a decent running back when McCaffrey first missed time. Now, his number is called again as the Panthers seek a spot in the playoffs. The Falcons defense isn't the best, which means we could see Hubbard provide consistency out of the backfield.

2. DJ Moore proves he's one of the best receivers in the league

DJ Moore is already regarded as one of the best young receivers in the league. However, he'll have a chance to prove he deserves to be amongst the NFL's elite receivers. Moore is an incredibly talented receiver who is a threat to take it to the house on any given play.

Atlanta has a decent secondary, making this a great challenge for the Panthers' star receiver. Look for DJ Moore to potentially have one of the best games of his career on Sunday.

1. Cam Newton bounces back for a big 3 touchdown performance

It's been a roller coaster for Cam Newton since rejoining the Panthers. He looked great in the first two games he played for them, but everything fell apart the last time he took the field. Newton will have a chance to redeem himself against the Falcons and could be in for a big performance. With extra rest and preparation coming off Carolina's bye week, Cam Newton should be able to improve his play.
