Taylor Swift is heading back to late-night TV!
The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert will have Swift as a special guest on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Colbert posted a reel of himself dancing to the singer's track “Opalite.” Towards the end of the clip, Swift says, “Hey Stephen,” referencing her 2008 record, “Fearless.”
This time around, for her late-night show appearance, she will be discussing her upcoming documentary coming to Disney+ on Dec. 12.
“We’ve had so long to prepare for the end of this tour, and we get to play one last show for you here tonight,” says Swift in the trailer as she performs her 2010 hit “Long Live.” “I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date.”
The documentary will feature the entire set of her Grammy-nominated album The Tortured Poets Department for the first time. The set was added after Swift released the project in April 2024.
She will also be releasing the first two episodes of her six-part docuseries Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era on Dec. 12. This docuseries has been described as “an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.”
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day.
Taylor Swift's third late-night show appearance
This will mark Swift's third late-night show appearance this year. She previously was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers. This press run followed the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which dropped on Oct. 3. During her appearance on The Tonight Show, she explained how the concept behind “Wood” off of The Life of a Showgirl came to be.
“I brought this into the studio, and I was like, ‘I want to do a throwback, kind of timeless-sounding song,’ and I have this idea about, like, ‘I ain’t gotta knock on wood,’ and we would knock on wood, and it would be all these superstitions,” she explained.
Swift continued, “And it really started out in a very innocent place. [Laughs] You know, it started out… I don’t know what happened, man.”
In the song, Swift sings, “Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my еyes / Redwood tree, it ain't hard to see / His love was thе key that opened my thighs,” referencing her fiancé Travis Kelce.
She further detailed, “I got in there. We started vibing, and I don’t know. I don’t know how we got here, but I love this song so much.”
