It's Taylor Swift new album season. Well, kind of and sort of. The pop-music superstar is ready to roll through with her plan of rereleasing her six first albums in a new form — a fallout from her longstanding issue with who owned the masters to the original versions.
On Good Morning America, the nation's musical darling had this to say:
“I’ve decided to add songs from the vault,” said Taylor Swift. “Which are songs that almost made the original Fearless album, but I’ve now gone back and recorded those so that everyone will be able to hear not only the songs that made the album but the songs that almost made it – the full picture.”
Swift has already, apparently, re-recorded a new version of her hit song Love Story. Given the nature of the industry, it wouldn't be shocking if she takes the route of surprise music drops instead of the traditional long builds to a release of a song or full albums.
Back in 2018, Taylor Swift announced she was leaving her label, which resulted in the entire “who owns what of her musical catalogue.”
It is widely expected that — no matter how good or great or bad these new versions are — fans will buy these new Taylor Swift albums simply to support her.
