With the blockbuster trade sending Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, and others, now completed, some players of the Cleveland Cavaliers have said their goodbyes to their former teammate. The four-time All-Star returned the favor with a heartfelt message of his own on Instagram. He also made a special message to the city of Cleveland, and thanked them for the support they gave him through his first six years in the league.

However, one thing a lot of people noticed was absence of any mention of LeBron James throughout the clip. There have been reports in the past that the two are no longer in good terms, and Irving excluding James in his message definitely adds more fuel to the fire.

The 25-year-old Duke product was the first overall pick in the 2011 draft and has spent his entire professional career with the Cavs so far. He has established himself as an elite player in the league by helping lift his team to three straight Finals appearances, including their title run in 2016.

Now with the Celtics, he is expected to play a bigger role than what he had with his former team. Kyrie Irving will also have the opportunity to play for one of the most storied franchises in NBA history. It will be interesting to see how he will be welcomed in Northeast Ohio though, and to find out more about the real status of his relationship with James.
