The Boston Celtics might be fighting for the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference, but their official Twitter account is already putting in work for the offseason.

Upon celebrating their fans with a custom jersey wallpaper promotion, one fan couldn't help but request an Anthony Davis jersey:

The Celtics' social media team apparently saw no issue in obliging, but the tweet was soon deleted. Screenshots live forever, though:

Naturally, it didn't take long for the Twitter police to come with chants of tampering running rampant:

Though not before a fan gave them the proverbial bird. After all, snitches do get stitches:

It's unclear if something as lighthearted as honoring a fan's request would qualify as tampering, but given that there is so little to draw from when it comes to intent, there likely won't be any repercussions besides the deletion of the tweet.

The Celtics are seen as one of the front-runners to acquire Davis due to the war chest of draft picks and avid young assets on the roster, which the Pelicans view as a highly valuable package in return for their talisman. Boston wasn't able to make a play for Davis before the trade deadline because of the presence of Kyrie Irving and his contract, but there were reportedly conversations with the New Orleans Pelicans about offseason negotiations.

It's unclear if Davis would stay with the Celtics for the long haul. The superstar big man can opt out of his contract in 2020, and he's expected to do just that in order to sign a new deal, no matter where he winds up in a trade.
