The Boston Celtics have had a very busy offseason. First, Brad Stevens went from head coach to the team's GM as Danny Ainge walked away. Then they traded for Al Horford and traded away Kemba Walker. After that, they gave an extension to Marcus Smart, and it's safe to say that Stevens was busy.

However, Stevens spoke on the difficulty of having to trade Kemba Walker. Stevens made an appearance on  WEEI’s Ordway, Merloni and Fauria and spoke about his new role, including discussing the trade that sent Walker away.

“Trading Kemba right off the bat was not fun, was not an easy thing to do….But obviously the opportunity to get Al back and some of the things it opened up the opportunity to do as we try to build toward the future, it was just part of it.”

As Stevens said, trading away Walker from the Celtics wasn't easy, but a Boston reunion for Al Horford definitely softened the blow a little bit. But still, having to do that right after taking the new job is a tough way for Stevens to get started.

The Celtics have Horford along with Jayson Tatu, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, and perhaps the movement could lead to a bounce-back campaign for them in 2021-2022.
