For the Boston Celtics on Saturday night, their win on the road against the Brooklyn Nets was as gritty as they come. The game may not have been very pretty on offense, but rookie forward Jayson Tatum and his Celtics teammates were able to get the job done to notch head coach Brad Stevens' squad a sixth straight victory.

“It's been a tough, physical game for all four quarters,” Tatum said immediately after the game. “We know Brooklyn's not a team to give up and they're going to fight to the end.”

Late in the fourth quarter, Tatum had an acrobatic dunk and game-sealing 3-pointer to put his fearlessness on display for everyone in attendance at Barclays Center. The Nets could only inch a bit closer as the Celtics held on by a score of 87-85.

Via an article written by A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston:

“He’s supposed to; wide open in the corner,” said Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving, referring to his pass to Tatum for what turned into the game-winning basket. “Rookie or not, better make the shot. Step in and shoot it with confidence; that’s what he has been doing.”

Jayson Tatum had 16 points (seven in the fourth quarter) to go along with a career-high six blocks, six rebounds, and three steals.

In a tweet after the game from the Celtics' official Twitter account, Brad Stevens opened up about Tatum's performance.

Up next, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics (33-10) will play the Philadelphia 76ers (19-19) in the NBA London 2018 Game at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, England. The contest, which will tip off shortly after 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday afternoon, will be broadcast live nationally on NBATV.
