The NBA offseason is winding down, yet the Boston Celtics still have a few things to address. The Celtics' biggest concern is filling the last two vacancies on the roster, one of which may or may not be occupied by unrestricted free agent forward Blake Griffin.

Griffin spent the 15th year of his long career with the C's last season and made quite the impression. He primarily came off the bench and served as a solid defender who could step up when necessary. When asked about Griffin's impact, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens offered plenty of high praise, via WEEI.

“When [Robert Williams III] was out at the start of the year, those guys that played in his place did an amazing job of keeping us afloat,” he said. “Blake was as good as it gets both on and off the court.”

Griffin, who's 34 years old and nearing the end of his NBA journey, was also a vocal leader for the Celtics during their 2022-23 campaign. It's a rare luxury to receive advice and wisdom from a six-time All-Star, but Griffin provided that to a Celtics squad filled with young stars.

Whether or not Griffin returns to Beantown for the 2023-24 season remains to be seen. However, it's clear that Stevens enjoyed having the league veteran on the court and in the locker room.

The respect isn't just one-sided, either, as Griffin has been vocal about his love for Boston. Although he didn't declare that he was coming back, he had great things to say about his Celtics teammates.

If the former Slam Dunk Contest champion is willing to take a discount, there's a real possibility that he'll be back in green for the upcoming season.
