The Boston Celtics are in the midst of a crucial offseason, with difficult decisions set to be made in the following days. But perhaps first on the agenda is the search for a new coach after Brad Stevens was promoted as general manager.
One would think it won’t be difficult for Stevens to find his replacement. But just in case he needs help, all he needs to do is look up. A nutrition company used a billboard near the Celtics’ practice venue to urge Stevens to hire WNBA legends Becky Hammon or Kara Lawson as the team’s new coach.

Hiring either Hammon or Lawson would be a historic one for the Celtics, one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. There hasn’t been a woman chief tactician in the NBA, and Stevens pulling the gun would be a HUGE game-changer.
Other names like Jason Kidd, Lloyd Pierce, Chauncey Billups, and Ime Udoka are being floated around as the Celtics’ new drillmaster. So Stevens surely has a difficult decision to make. It’s imperative for him to find a coach who will continue the development of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown after making huge strides this season. There’s also the young fleet of Robert Williams III, Payton Pritchard, Aaron Nesmith, and Romeo Langford.
Brad Stevens probably drives by the billboard daily as he goes to work. So for sure, he’s received the message. Seeing it seven days a week might’ve unconsciously ingrained the suggestion in his brain. Talk about an advertisement with recall.
