Boston Celtics newcomer Enes Kanter has always been known as an outspoken individual, and he didn't hold back when asked recently about the team's tumultuous situation last season.

During his appearance on FS1's “First Things First”, Kanter said he felt “a negative energy” around the Celtics when he played in Boston as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers. The Turkish big man is talking about the Feb. 28 game between both squads, which the Blazers won 97-92.

The Celtics were severely inconsistent last season. Although they had one of the best point guards in the league in Kyrie Irving, they were often out of sync. According to rumors, the younger guys on the team didn't really like Irving's leadership, which caused a division in the locker room.

Boston still managed to finish with the fourth-best record in the East. The Celtics cruised past the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. They seemed to have figured things out when they stunned the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the conference semifinals, but that was the Celtics' last victory in the postseason as the Bucks won the next four games.

Irving promptly left the Celtics to join the Brooklyn Nets as a free agent. Boston recovered quickly by replacing him with another All-Star in Kemba Walker. The Celtics have also added Kanter, who will fill the void left by the departed Al Horford.

The new-look Celtics should be good in 2019-20, and they're counting on a better locker room to help them out.
