WWE fans in the Boston area may be in for a treat someday in the future. On his podcast, Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter gave an answer to the question no one knew they wanted: Who would in a WWE match between himself and former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

“That's a match that the whole world would want to see because obviously he's a fun guy who loves to smile and make people laugh. That would be a match that the whole world would want to see,” Enes Kanter said when asked by NBC Sports' Chris Forsberg.

Luckily, the WWE is scheduled to hold its annual SummerSlam event on August 23 at Boston's TD Garden. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, events such as SummerSlam are a bit up in the air at the moment.

“I think they would cheer for him (Gronkowski). It's my first year so I think they would cheer for him,” the Celtics center jokingly added.

Both Kanter and Gronkowski have been involved with pro wrestling in the past, as Kanter won the 24/7 title last September. In fact, the Turkish big is reportedly seriously considering a career in the WWE after he retires from the NBA.

On the basketball court, the 6-foot-11 center was averaging 8.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the Celtics prior to the NBA season being postponed.

As for Gronkowski,  the former All-Pro tight end appeared in several WWE events during his career with the Patriots. Since retiring from football in March of 2019, Gronk has been heavily involved in the WWE — making his Smack Down debut in March and hosting Wrestlemania 36 earlier this week.
