Former Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward's wife sent out a message on social media right after her husband signed a massive free-agent deal with the Charlotte Hornets.

Robyn Hayward said, “Contrary to the media in Boston, I have really enjoyed my time there and the relationships I made.”

Gordon Hayward's three-year run with the Celtics was messy. He suffered a terrible injury on opening night in Oct. 2017 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, as Hayward dislocated his left ankle and fractured his left tibia.

While Hayward returned for the 2018-19 season, he struggled since he was making his way back from the gruesome injury. Celtics fans sometimes booed Hayward during the 2018-19 season since he was making a lot of money and wasn't playing well.

That obviously hurt Robyn Hayward.

In 2019-20, Hayward actually played really well despite going under the knife again due to a hand injury. However, multiple reports have stated that he wasn't happy with his role on the Celtics, who lost to the Miami Heat in the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals in six games at Walt Disney World in the NBA bubble.

In 125 games with the Celtics, Hayward averaged 13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in the regular season. He's now joining a Hornets team that has LaMelo Ball and Devonte' Graham in the backcourt and Hall of Famer Michael Jordan as the owner.
