Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka had nothing but praise for his boys after their highly impressive display in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Any other team would have folded after Stephen Curry's scorching hot start to the game, but simply put, that just isn't in the DNA of this Celtics side.

Udoka singled out the Celtics' defense as the key factor that led to their upset win against the Warriors on their own home court. According to the 44-year-old shot-caller, this is exactly what makes this team so special:

“That's kind of who we've been all year,” Udoka said, via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston. “Tough, grinders, and a resilient group that we know we can always rely on our defense to kind buckle down when needed.”

Curry dropped 21 points on a record-breaking six triples in the opening period, but the Celtics never let up. They kept the game close and they weathered the storm. It was their time in the fourth period as they locked down the Warriors with their trademark defense. Boston caught fire as well, and it resulted in a mind-blowing 120-108 victory for the underdogs.

Game 2 is slated for Sunday and the Celtics will be hoping for a repeat performance as they look to secure their first NBA title in 14 years.
