Amid a turbulent 2021 – 22 season, trade rumors surrounding the Boston Celtics have been emerging. Most of these rumors involve Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum's running mate. Speculation regarding the duo's relationship and their fit together in the roster have flown all over the place.

After their big game against the New Orleans Pelicans, though, Celtics fans may want to pump the brakes on the Jaylen Brown trade rumors a bit. The duo of Tatum and Brown scored more than 30 points a piece, proving that this duo works wonders and the trade rumors need to end. (via ESPN Stats and Info)

Against the Pelicans, Tatum and Brown were unstoppable. Tatum scored a whopping 38 points, along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists, to lead the Celtics to a 107 – 97 victory. Brown, not to be undone, went for 31 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. This young duo has been one of the most hyped tandems in the league, and they're validating that hype now.

The Celtics as a team have been rather underwhelming this season. Despite having a lot of talent on paper, this team hasn't been able to put up any semblance of consistency in their games. Perhaps it's part of the growing pains of having a new coach at the helm, but still. This team teeters the line between legitimate Conference Finalist to bottom-feeding team.

Some are thinking that breaking up the Jaylen-Jayson duo is the only way to fix these issues. After the duo carried the Celtics on their backs against the Pelicans, perhaps these people should reconsider their stance.
