Boston Celtics stud Jaylen Brown has been making headlines of late for his heavy involvement in the fight against social injustice. The 23-year-old just took it a step further by announcing that he would like to set up his own political media outlet.

Brown took to Twitter to share his idea:

You have to note that the operative word Jaylen Brown chose here is “unbiased.” Perhaps this stems from Brown's unhappiness with how certain media outlets have been covering the entire situation around the nation. Certain news programs have been criticized for focusing too much on the negative aspects of the protests (i.e., the looting). Recently, even Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James called out the media for not showing the peaceful parts of the protests enough. For his part, Brown is likely thinking along these lines when he made his earlier declaration.

To some degree, this may sound like a knee-jerk reaction from Brown. However, he has recently proven that he follows through on his statements. Case in point is how he drove 15 hours to Atlanta to take the lead in the peaceful protests in the city.

Should Brown actually decide to pursue his plan here, then he won't be the first athlete to take a similar route. Big names like LeBron himself and New York Knicks legend Derek Jeter have established their own media outlets in Uninterrupted and The Players' Tribune, respectively, and they have found significant success in this specific field.

Jaylen Brown appears to have proven that he has a bright future post-basketball, so perhaps this is the path he is going to take. Of course, given he's just 23 years old, he may look to embark on this venture well before he's done playing. Either way, the youngster clearly has big plans outside of basketball.
