A lot of men view a crisp hairline as an important part of their image, and Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum believes he has the best one in the NBA.

Several impressive hairlines have graced the league over the years, including those of former Celtics star Kyrie Irving, Freddy VanVleet, Paul George and Jalen Rose. Attributes needed to qualify include natural length, cleanliness of the cut and overall styling (fade/waves).

Tatum was recently asked to vote on the best hairline in the NBA. Though he admitted that he was in need of a lineup, he chose himself:

“Jalen (Rose) don't count because he don't play no more,” Tatum said, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. “But if you ask me, I'm going to say me.

“I need a haircut right now, though. I'm going to get one soon.”

Good hairline and all, Tatum and the Celtics are off to a great start this season, as their 22-8 overall record can attest. The former No. 3 overall pick has made 30 appearances in this campaign, racking up averages of 21.2 points on 42.0 percent shooting from the field (35.9 percent from beyond the arc), 7.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and just under one block (0.8) in 34.1 minutes per outing.

The Celtics — winners in five of their last six games — will be back in action on Tuesday, when they'll face off against the Hornets in Charlotte. Tip-off inside the Spectrum Center is set for 3:00 p.m. ET.

As an interesting side note, Celtics guard Kemba Walker will be facing his former team. The former University of Connecticut standout spent eight seasons in Charlotte, earning three All-Star selections.
