Re-acquiring Al Horford was integral to the Boston Celtics' system after they fell extremely short of expectations. His acumen and eye for keeping players in Joe Mazzulla's system in check allows for a better bond inside and outside the court. More than that, his production does not seem to falter despite his age and it showed against the Atlanta Hawks. This is why Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are extremely grateful to have the decorated veteran on their squad, via Taylor Snow of the NBA.

“Al just adds to winning. That play is just a small example of what Al brings to our team. That was a corner crash, the ball bounced on the other side of the floor, and Al goes up through three guys,” Jaylen Brown said about the Celtics veteran after they won over the Hawks with a 113-to-103.

Al Horford ended the game with only six points but made impactful plays on the glass that amounted to 15 boards. He also notched three assists to round out his all-around performance in 32 minutes.

Jayson Tatum saw this and remained in awe with how the Celtics veteran has become more hungry for a title, “It just gives us so much energy. We get so excited when he does those things… You know, that's contagious, the crowd feeds off of that, we feed off of that, and he's, he's that guy on our team. Everybody loves him and respects him. Night in and night out, he does things like that, that we can't say ‘thank you' enough for.”

Horford is not showing any signs of having an empty tank anytime soon. His ability to help young big men in Joe Mazzulla's squad like Neemias Queta, Luke Kornet, and even Kristaps Porzingis at times cannot be understated.
