The Boston Celtics have been undergoing some major changes in their lineup. After injuries to Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, and Marcus Smart, the Celtics definitely have some spots to fill if they are going to close out the regular season on a good note. On Thursday, the Celtics decided to make some changes to their lineup. As it turns out, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was even surprised by the sudden lineup, according to Providence Journal's Scott Souza.

Jayson Tatum when told Guerschon Yabusele was starting tonight: “Who's starting?” “Guerschon.” “For real?” “Yeah.” “I didn't know that. But Guerschon is my man. I'm happy for him … Hey Guersch! (across locker room) I'm happy for you!”

The Celtics take on the Wizards on Wednesday with an entirely new lineup. As the second best team in the Eastern Conference, this lineup experimentation can cause severe implications in the latter half of the Celtics' schedule. The Celtics are four games back for the top seed in the East, so this could mean that the Celtics will likely settle for the second seed.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens recently elaborated on some insane lineup ideas that he has in mind.

There’s a chance we could be big. There’s a chance we could be super big at times. Maybe you’ll see a Greg Monroe-at-the-3 lineup.

The Celtics seem to be ready for their injured players to return to their lineup, hopefully before the regular season ends. Stevens has some weird lineup suggestions, but players like Tatum are apparently going on with it. Yabusele is also probably stoked to get a chance to start in Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
