As expected, Boston Celtics star point guard Kemba Walker won't play on Monday against the Sacramento Kings.

Walker suffered a neck injury last Friday night in a collision with Semi Ojeleye. He was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms, then released from a Boston hospital on the same night.

The Celtics are 11-4 on the season, good for second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Walker is averaging 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game on the season. He's shooting 40.0 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 91.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Everyone on the Celtics will have to step up in the absence of Walker, who is one of the best players in the NBA. The entire NBA community is just happy to hear that Walker is doing okay. That hit on Friday in Denver was tough to watch.

Boston is putting up 110.7 points a night, which is 14th in the NBA. The Celtics have a top-10 defense, giving up only 103.8 points per game. Their defense will have to be more rugged moving forward sans Walker, who often bails out Boston with his spectacular shot making.

Hopefully, Walker is back on the court soon, but not until he's at 100 percent.
