The Boston Celtics have been one of the most inspiring success stories of the NBA's regular season. After losing Gordon Hayward to a leg injury for the rest of the season, the Celtics have stormed to the best record in the Eastern Conference, led by Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, appearing to be legitimate championship contenders.

That's not to say that there aren't bad stretches for any NBA team. The Celtics have lost three games in a row for the first time this campaign. After the Celtics lost to the Orlando Magic on Sunday afternoon, Horford commented that the Celtics were “fighting for their lives” to express the sense of urgency for Boston to get back to winning.

Apparently, Irving has a different opinion on his team's recent adversity, according to Jared Weiss of The Celtics Wire.

Kyrie Irving was told Al Horford said the Celtics are fighting for their life: “You gotta hit some adversity. We have to hit something. Like, we need it as a team. There’s a lot more adversity down the road and we got to be able to weather the storm no matter what.”

Irving actually has a penchant for thriving in adversity. When he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he played a huge role in helping the team overcome a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

The Celtics should adopt Irving's ideology and attempt to weather the storm down the road. The Celtics are currently 34-13 in the Eastern Conference. After losing three straight games, the Raptors are now two games behind them for the top spot. Hopefully, the Celtics will regain their footing with a win over the Lakers on Tuesday.
