In his first campaign with the Boston Celtics, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has led the way to a strong start out of the gate this season currently heading the Eastern Conference with a 5-2 record.

Following the Celtics' fifth straight win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night, Irving raved about his new teammates while revealing some intriguing details.

Beyond just the strong connection that Irving has already formed with his teammates, it has become more clear that he had wanted a change of scenery for quite some time and that the Celtics were on his radar as a possible landing spot.

That said, the chemistry that Irving has quickly developed has helped lead Boston to a strong amount of success this season. It has also helped them mask the loss of All-Star forward Gordon Hayward with players such as Jaylen Brown and rookie Jayson Tatum stepping up in his absence.

Although it may be early in the season, the Celtics have shown the potential to be a threat in the East with Irving leading the way. They possess a deep roster that has many different players that can effectively contribute on both ends of the floor. With the Cleveland Cavaliers struggling to start the season, Boston could emerge as the top team in the conference.
