Marcus Smart was one of the best players on the court on Thursday, as his Boston Celtics took down the Los Angeles Clippers in a thrilling double overtime encounter. Smart finished with 31 points (10-of-20 from the floor, 6-of-8 from the line), five 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals, as he helped his squad to a 141-133 victory over the Clippers.

Following his impressive performance, Smart shared that he got a little extra motivational boost during the game from watching Kevin Garnett's jersey retirement video.

The Celtics recently announced that they will be honoring Garnett — a one-time NBA champion during his six-year Boston career — by hanging up his No. 5 jersey at some point next season. On Thursday, the team played a hype video of Garnett on the big screen, and as it turns out, it wasn't only the home crowd that got fired up.

Garnett was one of the most intense players in the league during his playing days. Smart himself is not the meekest of characters in the NBA today, and based on his reaction above, he obviously draws some inspiration from the Celtics legend.

This was a great way for Boston to close out the mid-point of their season heading into the All-Star break. The team has now won all but one of the seven games they've played in the month of February, and they are currently in possession of a 38-16 record, which is good for the third spot in the Eastern Conference.
