It’s been a while since the Boston Celtics lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in an Eastern Conference Finals series that lasted seven games, but Celtics guard Marcus Smart seems to have plenty of adrenaline left flowing in his veins. We say so because that’s the only explanation we have right now as to why the burly guard did what Jay King of The Athletic said in a recent tweet.

At his camp, Marcus Smart just tried to take a charge on a kid running to the pizza line. This tweet is not a joke.

First of all, why Marcus? Why?

It’s also probably just reflex for Smart, who’s known to be among the best in terms of drawing charges. In fact, he finished last season sixth among all guards in charges drawn with 13. Then again, that’s a kid Marcus.

Smart is no longer different than those other NBA stars who mercilessly swat children’s shot attempts and those who dunk on them without regard to the trauma they could be inflicting on the kids.

Marcus Smart finished last season with averages of 10.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 54 games played. He’s a looming restricted free agent once his current deal with the Celtics expires this summer.
