Some of this planet’s best basketball players made their way to Las Vegas Thursday to participate in the voluntary Team USA minicamp ran by San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. It’s not always that these many stars gather in one location to break some sweat on the basketball court, so it was quite a sight for many in attendance to see the likes of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Victor Oladipo to name a few hang out together.

Speaking of those four All-Stars, Irving, at least during one moment of the day, tried to hand down some Uncle Drew wisdom on how to break down the defense in the lane for a layup. In the video below by Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Celtics point guard could be seen and heard asking the three to try executing a Euro step in the middle before finishing at the rim.

Most people would pay close attention whenever Kyrie Irving tries to drop dimes on how to perform a Euro step, since there’s arguably no one better in the NBA in making that move than him, but not Kevin Durant – at least that’s what it looked like when the Golden State Warriors forward simply put up a pair of lousy jumpers from near the top of the key instead of following Irving’s basic orders.

Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo, meanwhile, took Irving’s lesson seriously, as both went hard to the basket. Was Durant not that interested of what Uncle Drew was teaching because Westbrook was there? We can’t know for sure, but let’s not also let Durant’s apparent indifferent attitude ignore the fact that Brodie missed both of his attempts here.
