Video: Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum show each other love after Nets beat Celtics

Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving, Celtics, Nets

Kyrie Irving may have left the Boston Celtics on pretty bad terms and the fans may not exactly hold him near and dear to their heart, but it seems that at least one of his former teammates still has some love for him.

Following the Brooklyn Nets’ win over the Celtics on Friday afternoon (a game in which Irving did not play), Irving and Jayson Tatum embraced and clearly had a friendly moment on the court:

Irving and Tatum spent two seasons together as Celtics brethren, but things did not exactly finish on a good note.

Last year, Boston was expected by many to win the Eastern Conference, but instead, the C’s won just 49 games and were bounced out of the second round of the playoffs, one season after making it to the conference finals with both Irving and Gordon Hayward injured.

Throughout the season, rumblings came out of the Celtics’ locker room that Irving and Boston’s young players were not getting along, and the fact that Irving’s impending free agency was hanging over everyone’s heads did not help matters.

Irving ultimately left Beantown for the Nets over the summer, joining his good friend Kevin Durant in teaming up in Brooklyn.

The Celtics replaced Irving with Kemba Walker and have certainly looked like a better team thus far this season, but it doesn’t appear that Tatum harbors any bad blood for Irving.

Kyrie Irving, who was not present when the C’s beat the Nets in Boston this past Wednesday, has missed eight straight games due to a shoulder injury.
