If it wasn't already a productive summer transfer window for Chelsea, they've capped it off on the final day. The Blues have secured the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul on a €5 million loan deal, per Fabrizio Romano:

With Jorginho and N'Golo Kante both dealing with injuries early on in the Premier League campaign, this is the perfect signing for Chelsea. Saul typically plays in the middle of the park and gives Thomas Tuchel's side more depth.

The Blues are off to a tremendous start, going unbeaten in their first three games. While it's unlikely Saul would start on a regular basis for the Blues, he will certainly receive his fair share of minutes. He is a true box-to-box midfielder who is strong defensively but also capable of getting forward and contributing to the attack.

Aside from securing the loan of Saul, Chelsea already brought in Romelu Lukaku to hopefully fix their goal-scoring problems. Jules Kounde was also close to joining the club from Sevilla, but the deal has seemed to fall through. The Blues managed to sell numerous players as well, totaling well over €100 million.

Saul is just the icing on the cake as they eye the Premier League title in 2021/22. Well done, Chelsea.
