The Chicago Bears went 8-8 last season and lost to the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round. It was a very disappointing season for the Bears as they had high hopes after starting off 5-1. The Bears didn't have enough talent on the roster to compete last year. Although the defense is filled with talent, the offense was horrible.

The Bears made sure to address this issue in free agency and the draft. In free agency the Bears made many underrated signings with players that will impact the roster. Signing quarterback Andy Dalton was surprising but he could be a solid starter at first. However, they drafted Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields in the first round. The Bears traded up to get Fields and he may take over the starting job at some point this season.

They also signed an undrafted rookie that has a great shot at making the Bears 2021 roster.

Bears' Hidden Gem: LB Charles Snowden

The Bears brought in linebacker Charles Snowden as an undrafted free agent and he has a ton of upside. Snowden was projected to be a day two or three selection but fell to free agency. He has a lot of potential and could be what the Bears have been missing since Leonard Floyd was cut from the team.

Snowden projects to be similar to Floyd in a lot of ways. Although Snowden is not a refined pass rusher yet he is already great in the run game. He may not put up a lot of sacks for Chicago but he will be a great presence for the Bears defense.

Snowden is a 6'6 and 243 pound guy that has great length which allows him to be successful. His length has made him a great run stopper early and will help him develop into a solid pass rusher.

He will also be able to learn under one of the best defensive players in Khalil Mack. Mack is one of the best pass rushers in the league and can help Snowden progress into a great pass rusher. While Snowden is a little bit of a raw prospect he has a lot of tools that will allow him to make the roster.

Snowden has proven to be a leader as well as he was a team captain in college. He is very agile and has shown that he is solid in coverage. Snowden is also a good open field tackler which is rare for rookies.

Look for Snowden to make the roster and be a solid player for the Bears.

Chicago has the talent on the roster it will just come down to execution. They are in a division with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and the Detroit Lions. The Packers are a threat to the Bears making a run at the division title but the future of Aaron Rodgers is still uncertain. This is where the Bears need to take advantage and make a run at the division title.

The talent on the roster should be enough for them to make another playoff run. With a great defense and an improved offense the Bears are primed to make a deeper run this season. If the offense can become better then the Bears should be good for years to come.

Look for the Bears to make another playoff run and do some damage once they get there.
