During the heat of the NFL offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs made the surprising decision to trade superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. It's a bold move to make, but the front office seems to have built a competent roster for the upcoming season. With that in mind, Andy Reid delivers some inspiring news regarding Josh Gordon.

According to Pro Football Talk, Andy Reid is impressed with what he's seeing from the veteran receiver so far in minicamp. The Chiefs' head coach explains how Josh Gordon has improved this offseason so far. “He's running better, he's catching better and he's working hard. He's a good kid and he's smart, so that helps. That's the way he's approached this whole thing, and he's getting reps.”

It's been a while since we've last seen Gordon play in top form. After scorching the league back in 2013. Multiple suspensions due to drugs and substances have prevented the veteran receiver from shining in the NFL. However, he's made subtle appearances here and there. Perhaps he can finally have a bounce-back season for the Chiefs with Tyreek Hill out of the picture.

Although Kansas City brought in Juju Smith-Schuster and Skyy Moore, Josh Gordon has a legitimate chance to play a significant role in this offense. Additionally, with Patrick Mahomes under center, the Chiefs' offense should remain relatively the same as it's always been.

Even though Josh Gordon is 31-years old, the veteran can make an impact in a high-powered offense this season. At the very least, he can be a great pass option for Mahomes until Skyy Moore is ready for an expanded role. Keep an eye on Gordon throughout the offseason, as he may surprise Andy Reid enough to earn extended playing time for the Chiefs.
