The Kansas City Chiefs beat down their division rival, Las Vegas Raiders, Sunday 48-9. The Chiefs reportedly had added motivation to lay the hammer on the Raiders. Prior to the game Sunday, Raiders defensive end Yannick Ngakoue called for a team meeting. The problem is that he brought his team to midfield and held the meeting directly on top of the Chiefs logo.

ESPN Staff writer Adam Teicher detailed the events of what happened.

“The Chiefs took note that the Las Vegas Raiders gathered on their logo at midfield before Sunday's game and felt it added some fuel before their 48-9 victory over their longtime rivals.” The Chiefs took notice of what happened. “You definitely don't want people to come into your stadium and disrespect things that you kind of built,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “It gave us a little more motivation to go out there and win against a really good football team that we have a rivalry against that usually is a tough football game.”

The Chiefs clearly took exception. Kansas City's defense scored on the first play from scrimmage when Chiefs' Mike Hughes ran back a fumble for a touchdown. That was only the beginning.

Kansas City moved the ball at will throughout the game and led 35-3 at halftime. Patrick Mahomes only had to throw 24 passes in the game, but completed 20 of them for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

This was the second time in less than a month that the Chiefs crushed the Raiders. In Week 10, the Chiefs won in Las Vegas, 41-10. With the win Sunday, Kansas City tied New England and Tennessee at 9-4, atop the AFC Standings.
