Mahomes flipping the ball to his skill position players close by and allowing them to make plays has become a staple of the Chiefs star passer’s style of play. Normally it’s to either Kelce or running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. It is a simple play that gives his skill players a chance to make a play and it often works to the Chiefs’ advantage.

It is another weapon added to Mahomes and the Chiefs’ rapidly increasing offensive arsenal, which is one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. The team leads the league in yards, passing yards, and are tied with the Green Bay Packers for most points per game. Mahomes has quickly become one of the best quarterbacks and overall players in the league in just his fourth season in the NFL. He is already being talked about in the same sentence as Tom Brady and others as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

This touchdown began the second quarter strongly for the Chiefs, giving them a 14-0 lead over the New Orleans Saints. The Chiefs are 12-1 and are first in the AFC, already clinching the AFC West. The Saints are 10-3 and have already clinched a playoff berth. The Chiefs are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions after beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV last season.
