Chris Bosh has not made a lot of public appearances since being diagnosed with blood clots for the second time in as many years. However, he broke his silence recently when he agreed to guest on the show, Larry King Now.

When asked if he thinks he can make a comeback in the NBA, the Miami Heat forward admitted that he is still an athlete in his heart, and that he understands the decision of team president Pat Riley not to allow him to play this season. Bosh added that he knows it's a business at the end of the day, and that there have been a lot of complications that led to him not being cleared to return to action.

“At heart, I'm still an athlete. That is not how I want it to end.”

“Yeah, I understand what they have to do as a team. It is a business. I know we — as athletes and owners and people involved with the NBA — never want to say it's a business, and things like that. It's is a business. And hurt does come in with that. But as president of the Miami Heat, I understand what he has to do.”

“It's complicated,” he said. “It's very, very complicated and that's why I haven't been able to play this year.”

The 33-year-old Georgia Tech product also said that he misses playing at the highest level, but at the same time, is thankful for having the opportunity to spend more time with his family in the past year.

“I do, but a part of me doesn't. Yeah. I've come to enjoy different aspects of life. There's a lot of life out there.

“I mean only because as basketball players, we do that, and that's really it. I've enjoyed spending time with my kids, enjoyed spending time with my wife, and just kind of relaxing and working on my mind and my soul.”

Although it remains to be seen if he'll ever make a successful comeback, one thing that can be expected is for the Heat to remove his salary, which will allow him to sign with any team that shows significant-enough interest in his services. Should he be able to return as well as  play close to the level he was at before the career-threatening ailment he had, he can definitely make a big impact to his next team and be one of their veteran leaders as well.
