Nicolas Batum went home on Sunday night leading the Los Angeles Clippers block party against the Detroit Pistons which they ended up winning 131-124. Batum had three blocks to boost the Clippers' reserve unit and ended up filling the stat sheet with 14 points, nine boards, three assists, and a steal. But, after we all found out how Batum has been honing up his defensive skills, his family's welcome home might not be as warm as he expects it to be.
In fact, it seems that Batum practices in a rather ordinary way, according to Farbod Esnaashari.
It seems as Batum has been pulling out all the stops and it didn't matter if he was crushing the heart of his 5-year-old son. That's dedication for you.
The 32-year-old has seen some sort of revival in his first year in Los Angeles. After spending his first 12 seasons in the league in Portland and Charlotte, Batum has now found a new home and has been an integral part of the Clippers' 2020-21 campaign. He's managed to work his way back to LA's depth chart and has been in and out of the starting line-up for head coach Ty Lue.
Apart from his experience, Batum has brought in some much-needed depth when it comes to the Clippers' roster. The Frenchman is an all-around swingman that can be effective on both ends of the floor which should only help players like Kawhi Leonard and Paul Geroge down the stretch.
We just hope Nicolas junior is okay.
