Los Angeles Clippers fans got some terrific news on Kawhi Leonard as he works his way back from his ACL tear. The silent superstar is reportedly “ahead of schedule” on his recovery and is expected to suit up this season.

The latest update was via Chris Haynes, who reported it love during the Clippers' Thursday night contest against the Phoenix Suns.

“Kawhi Leonard is actually ahead of schedule in his rehab and a return this season is a strong possibility,” Haynes said. “Speaking with multiple Clippers players, they said he won’t be concerned with their playoff slide, believing that if fully healthy, they’ll be favorites over most in the West.”

While fans are surely ecstatic about Kawhi Leonard inching his way back early, nobody's more stoked than his own Clippers teammates. Upon learning the news, veteran Marcus Morris had a message for Kawhi – ensuring him that the crew will hold the fort while he's still away.

Via Clippers reporter Andrew Greif:

Marcus Morris Sr. said he would tell Kawhi to “take his time” with his knee injury recovery. But he smiled behind his mask. “And we all know Kawhi is going to take his time. … When he's ready to play, he'll play. We'll hold it down until he gets here.”

The Los Angeles Clippers have stumbled of late, losing eight of their last 11 games. However, they still hold the 8th seed in the Western Conference and just need to tread water until Kawhi Leonard finally gets back.
