The Los Angeles Clippers are in the midst of a very average campaign, sitting at just 21-21 on the season. As if it wasn't already brutal enough that Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss most of the season due to a knee injury, Paul George also went on the shelf a few weeks ago and the Clippers are operating under the fact that he won't return.

That being said, it appears LA is going to have a much different outlook at February's trade deadline. Per Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer, the injuries to their superstar duo could force the Clippers to be sellers:

Rival executives have since gathered that Los Angeles is willing to discuss the majority of its veteran roster in trade scenarios. “They're pretty much open for business for anyone except their main guys and Terance Mann. I think they really are fine falling out of the playoffs and regrouping for next year,” said one Western Conference official. “I think they're trying to shed the Marcus Morrises of the world, guys that have some value and maybe can replace them with younger talent, maybe cheaper [contracts], to free them to get someone else this summer.”

This is undoubtedly a surprise for a Clippers team who just made a historic run all the way to the Western Conference finals last season. But, it's the sad reality right now. PG has a partially torn UCL in his elbow. This is by no means minor, as many baseball players typically undergo Tommy John Surgery for this type of injury. As for Kawhi, there have been some positive rumblings that he could return in the coming months, but others believe that won't happen:

“He's always played things methodically and cautiously,” said one source with knowledge of Leonard's thinking. “I knew he was ahead of schedule [in his rehab], but I wouldn't bet on it. Kawhi is always focused on the long term. If they're not in the playoff picture, I think the chances he comes back are slim to none.”

The Clippers have some intriguing young pieces who could turn into legitimate players at the NBA level. Terance Mann is about the only player who LA will refuse to discuss in trade talks, but the likes of Keon Johnson, Amir Coffey, Brandon Boston, and the injured Jason Preston all possess promising potential.

Needless to say, it's going to be very interesting to see what happens with this Clippers roster by February 10th.
