Esports organization Cloud9 announced the departure of three players from the League of Legends team.

Supports Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon and Jonah “Isles” Rosario, along with top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae are no longer a part of the League of Legends roster according to this official announcement. It read:

“Today we part ways with Summit, Winsome, and Isles. With this, the three become free agents.

It's been a wild split full of ups and downs, and you were all with us every step of the way. Thank you for our time together and best of luck!”

Cloud9's LCS Spring 2022 Split was one that surprised many. While surrounded by drama after terminating their head coach's contract, the C9 roster continued to dominate the scene and went on a crazy win-streak early on and guaranteed their playoffs slot earlier than most. They ended the group stage at 13 wins and 5 losses, but during playoffs the team got eliminated quite early due to a 0-3 defeat against the eventual champions in Evil Geniuses.

Last LCS Spring 2022 Season was Summit's first split playing for a team in the North American region. He entered the scene strongly, essentially gapping every lane counterpart he faced. This earned him 7 MVP awards during the group stage – the most out of all players in that split. He was also the overall MVP for the entire Spring split. In a Tweet, he expressed his thoughts and future plans. “Even though it was only a short time, I'd like to say thank you to my team members and coaches. Especially, I want to thank our management for being considerate and taking good care of the Korean players, even though we didn't speak good English. I am going back to Korea now, but I will keep on cheering Cloud9 and Berserker. I hope to meet Cloud9 in a good match in the future. Thank you.”

Isles, like Summit, also took to Twitter to voice his thanks. “Although it's been a bitter ending, I'd like to thank all the individuals that made my time at C9 special, as well as the fans who have supported me along the way,” he said.

The rumored Cloud9 League of Legends roster for the LCS Summer 2022 Split is as follows:

  • Top lane: Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami
  • Jungle: Robert “Blaber” Huang
  • Mid lane: Nikolaj “Jensen” Jensen
  • Bot lane: Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol
  • Support: Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen
