Season 2 of COD Black Ops Cold War and Warzone comes in a few days on February 25. The new season brings weapons, character skins, and new game modes for players to enjoy throughout the new season. A Free Access Week will also allow players to experience multiplayer for free between February 25 and March 4.

New weapons – While official announcements don't confirm these yet, data miners found four new weapons – 2 melee weapons and 2 guns. Leaker TailsDoll711 revealed the first weapon, the bolt-action sniper rifle NTW-20. The other is the AI-LC10 sub-machine gun. To go along with the jungle theme of the cinematic trailer, Treyarch is also adding a Machete to the mix. The final weapon to be leaked is the E-Tool.

He comes with the unlockable “Viper” skin that fully embodies his brutal background. Get the Battle Pass to receive Naga through progression rewards.

Game Modes and Playlists – Along with the Free Access Week for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, game modes are switching up again in the multiplayer playlist. Apocalypse 24/7 and Gun Game we suspect will be the main modes players will queue for. Gunfight Blueprints, Face Off, Team Deathmatch, and Domination will also be available. Finally, for PlayStation players, the two-player Onslaught game mode will be exclusively available, with timed exclusives for players to go for.

COD BLACK OPS COLD WAR & WARZONE SEASON 2 BRINGS ZOMBIES OUTBREAK MODE

Players will not be happy with a new Call of Duty major update if it doesn't come with a new Zombies mode. Thankfully, Season 2 brings in the brand-new Zombies Outbreak mode.

The new game mode has similarities with the classic zombie multiplayer game Left 4 Dead. Players group up in teams of 4, starting out with just one weapon and a field upgrade. Players take part in “Operation Threshold,” up in the Ural Mountains of Russia. In this game mode, players enter “rifts,” which take place in “Phases,” supernatural forces that transport players back to familiar locations, but now with a much more dangerous twist. The phases will also open up new areas in these locations, unlocking new secrets.

There are five mission types in the game mode: DefendEscortRetrieveEliminate, and Holdout. Completing a mission will spawn a beacon. Players travel to the beacon, where they gain access to a crafting table, an arsenal for armor, Dew Wunderfizz, and Pack-a-Punch Machine. Players can use these to upgrade their characters.

With their preparations done, the team has two options: order an Exfil or enter a portal. Ordering an Exfil works the same way in other game modes in COD Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Given an exfiltration zone, players will have to clear the zone of any hostiles, securing a landing pad for the helicopter. Riding the chopper will allow the players to leave and secure their rewards.

Meanwhile, jumping into a portal will allow the teams to continue taking on new challenges, increasing their potential for more rewards.

Outbreak rewards players with the regular Aetherium crystals for upgrades, while also introducing two new Aetherium types: Refined and Flawless.
