The Indianapolis Colts got quarterback Carson Wentz back at practice in a surprising return after he underwent surgery and was expected to miss some time. That is certainly good news for the Colts as far as his status for Week 1.
However, the Colts were hit with bad news on Monday, as they placed Wentz on the COVID-19 list, according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

But, it isn’t just Wentz who landed on the list, either. Ryan Kelly and Zach Pascal are a couple other prominent Colts players to hit the list on Monday morning in a brutal turn of events.

With the regular season right around the corner, it is concerning that so many teams across the NFL have had to deal with issues in the preseason.
The regular season officially starts on September 9 as the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers face of, and everybody else will start on Sunday, September 12. If anything, the good news is that Wentz and the others should be ready to roll soon, although there is still some uncertainty.
More importantly, the fact that Wentz needs practice time is going to be an issue for Frank Reich and the Colts, so this will definitely be a situation to monitor going forward.
