With Dak Prescott unable to go, the Dallas Cowboys turned to backup quarterback Cooper Rush for duties under center in Week 8's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Rush would repay the trust of the Cowboys by gift-wrapping them with a 20-16 win on the road Sunday night.

In his first career NFL start, Rush played like he's been doing it for a long time. Rush went 24-of-40 for 325 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings. He got intercepted once, but that did not matter in the end, as he more than made up for that pick by finding leading the Cowboys to a game-winning drive that culminated in a heart-stopping touchdown grab by Amari Cooper in the end zone.

Rush understandably was feeling high after the game, and you could easily detect that from the things he said in the postgame interview.

“Yeah, you definitely dream about them, and it's just as good as the dream,” Rush said after the 20-16 victory. “It's pretty awesome to be able to show everyone and to be able to win like that. You always want to win like that.”

Thanks to Rush, the Cowboys managed to keep their win streak alive, extending it to six games after that victory over the Vikings. He would likely slide back to his backup role in Week 9, with Prescott expected to be ready to return from a calf injury.
