Dak Prescott is obviously ecstatic after the Dallas Cowboys got their first win of the season in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers. For him, the victory is a “huge” boost to the team looking to get back to the playoffs after a down year in 2020.

The Cowboys edged Justin Herbert and the Chargers 20-17 behind their rushing game headed by Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott. Prescott didn't throw a touchdown, but he was still great throughout the contest as he completed 23 of 27 passes for 237 yards.

With the win, the Cowboys avoided falling to a 0-2 hole and got a much-needed boost as they try to top the NFC East division. After Sunday's win, they are on a three-way tie with the Washington Football Team and  Philadelphia Eagles at 1-1.

“It’s special. It’s a building block. First one of many,” Prescott said on the win and beating a strong team on the road, per Jori Epstein of USA Today.

In Week 1, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys almost got a win against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, only to see their comeback efforts fail. However, they certainly made sure to bounce back in Week 2 against the Chargers despite the eight penalties they incurred.

Aside from the rushing attack, the Cowboys' defense also did their job and intercepted Justin Herbert twice while allowing just one passing touchdown.

While the Cowboys clearly have a lot to improve, Prescott and the team have every reason to celebrate the victory. They showed they can win even in ugly situations, and it's something they can only build upon.
