Contract negotiations are still at a standstill between the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott. But according to an NFL insider, the Cowboys are determined to work things out with the star QB.

Jay Glazer of The Athletic believes that it's not part of the Cowboys' plan to let go of Prescott. He believes that Prescott will be donning the Cowboys uniform for a long time and the team will do everything they can to succeed in this endeavor.

“They won’t (let it get to that). Absolutely not. It’s not part of their plan,” Glazer wrote. “Dak Prescott will be a part of the Dallas Cowboys for a long, long time. They will get this worked out.”

Reports reveal that Prescott wants more flexibility in his contract, contrary to what the Cowboys want. They want to secure him for the next five years while the quarterback prefers just four. This was enough to create some tension between the two parties.

While there is no doubt that Prescott will don the Cowboys uniform this year, he has to sign the contract by July 15. If not, then the Cowboys won't have a chance to negotiate for a long term deal with the two-time Pro Bowl.

For the past few weeks, no recent developments have been made. This has made Cowboys fans antsy. To let go of a top QB is a foolish move. And from the looks of it, the Cowboys would have to comply with Prescott's demands or they will get nothing in return.
