Kansas City Chiefs free safety Tyrann Mathieu was incredibly optimistic about CeeDee Lamb's future after the Dallas Cowboys drafted him with the 17th pick in the NFL Draft.

Mathieu took to Twitter to proclaim superstardom for the young Oklahoma wideout.

Lamb was the first receiver off the board in many experts' mock drafts, yet he wound up going behind Alabama's Henry Ruggs (selected No. 12 by the Oakland Raiders) and his partner Jerry Jeudy (15th by the Denver Broncos).

Lamb is an impressive playmaker with strong on-the-ball skills and running ability. He can score from anywhere on the field and can help the Cowboys a with straight-away speed or nifty route-running.

New head coach Mike McCarthy will have a solid set of weapons in his receiving core now that the Cowboys got their hands on Lamb. His size at 6-foot-2 and 198 pounds will match him well against a physical secondary while taking his share of contact from linebacking cores.

Besides top target Amari Cooper, McCarthy will also be familiar with former Green Bay wideout Randall Cobb and can use Lamb as a Davante Adams-type pass-catching talent.

Born in Richmond, TX, Lamb will have a chance to show off his skills close to his hometown in front of friends and family, though carving a set place in the depth chart should stand as his main priority.

With Dak Prescott throwing the ball and Ezekiel Elliot in the backfield, the Cowboys should present a problem for the rest of the NFC East.
