Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is regarded as one of the best players at his position in the NFL. However, the team may need to consider coming up with some defensive sub-package to get him on the other side of the football.

Elliott is among several players representing the Cowboys at this year's Pro Bowl. According to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, he switched jerseys with defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and got a few reps in on the line:

Considering his talent as an elite running back, Elliott has massive potential as an edge rusher in passing situations. While he may be a bit undersized, his strength and explosiveness off the line would make him a problem for a much bigger, slower offensive lineman. Fortunately, the Cowboys have more than enough talent up front to keep Elliott strictly on offense.

It is encouraging to see the players having some fun. The 2018 NFL season came to a disappointing end following their loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. Fortunately, they can take solace in the fact that they managed to mount one of the best comebacks in the league following a slow start to the year.

The Cowboys have seemingly managed to piece together their trio for the long-term future after they added wide receiver Amari Cooper to the mix. Regardless, Elliott has made it clear that the expectations are higher than ever in Dallas. They will need their talented, young core to continue making strides on both sides of the ball.
